DirectX 8.2 shipped with Combat Flight Simulator 3.

A while ago there whas an DirectX beta update for New World Order, the files that where updated where the DirectPlay files.

I havent installed these update myself so i dont know if they show beta or final drivers in DXdiag but i expect they showed beta, the DirectX package that is shipped with CFS3 are final DirectPlay files.

I have placed them on my website, also included the EULA that comes with it, the whole package is 27Mb and can be found here: http://138pc222.sshunet.nl/Drivers/DirectX82.zip

Its for all Os`s (windows based ofcourse

), i also have installed it under Win XP but i have a very mixed set of DirectX files on it (8.1/8.2/9.0) so i did install it on another pc with Win98 SE just to see what files are updated with this package.

Although installer Shows Dx8.1 installation goes well, DirectX 8.2 (4.08.02.0134) shown in
Dxdiag.exe, no problems noted in Neverwinter Nights

ok i play operation flashpoint when i try to host now i can's and when i try to join games i can't all was sweet with dx 8.1 any work arounds guys

Seems to be all good here.Playing UT 2003 and had a slight increase of FPS.Nothing big, but hell going up is better then down.

I mean, my PC has been running great, no lock-ups or BSOD's for ages (at least none that weren't driver related). BUT, faster is better, right? I'm d/l'ing it now, will post results of my "quick-tests'. Oh, I hope this won't hurt.

After running a bunch of different programs, I have determined that it is good.

Everything seems to run just as good or better than before.

Do you realy think MS ships a timebombed DirectX update with their own game

And in case you dont like it or it gives you any problems, just download this tool that will uninstall DirectX completely and after this you can install version 8.1b again. (Doesnt work on Win XP)

All ya need to do is create a restore point if you're not sure. This version seems to be just fine for my xp so far. Strange if it's fake but no harm.

I've tried the latest final patch and it works fine, i use to run DiectX8 from the orignal Windows XP, version 4.08.00.0100 or something like that and now it's DirectX 8.2 (4.08.02.0134).

So no need to get the big version at 25mb, when you can get the small update
