Any Firefox Guru's?
Hey guys, I recently switched to Firefox and have a couple of things I can't figure out
Is there any way to have a new window open in a Tab instead of launching a new window? I know I can right click the link and make it open a Tab but that's too much work Also is there any way to remove the bookmarks toolbar? Thanks. |

Another way to open links in a tab is to use the middle/wheel mouse button. I know by default if I just just click my mouse well on the link with the wheel mouse it opens in a tab.

I did a search but missed that thread, thanks for the link. But I was finally able to get my mouse working with Firefox so I guess I can use the middle button for this. The plugin seems a little buggy from the comments on that site so I'll play it safe for now. Thanks again

C:\Documents and Settings\***YOURUSERNAME***\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.***jibberish ***\extensions
find the one it is and delete that folder. That SHOULD do the trick |

this's depends on what extension that causes the problem,
and that may or may not help fixing the problem.. so pls don't take this personally, but it's going to be far easier for you to start over... i've done this about 100 times myself, during testing the Firefox and extensions. start a new profile will be the best and easiest way that i've found. it takes 5 mins... providing you already have all of the extensions that needs to be re-loaded on you HDD. if you are certain that you installed "every" extensions as a profile-installed and not one of them is installed as a globally-installed extension, then you can backup your bookmarks.html, cookies.txt, etc, and remove the profile folder, a new profile will be created on next Firefox starts. if you are not sure, then do the backup of your bookmarks.html, cookies.txt, etc, and uninstall the program and remove the profile folder, and start it over. you can also try to manually uninstall the extension... this how-to should still work.. http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtm...all_Extensions Last edited by Ctrl-Alt-Del; Dec 23, 2004 at 08:50 PM. |

Tabbrowser extensions is the best way to manage tabs for the first question. As for the second...as was mentioned by ctrlaltdel the best way is through a reload of the program.
