I cannot get my modem to work under WinXP x64. Operating system detects it, accepts the driver, but it doesn't work and the Device Manager says "Тhis device cannot start. (Code 10)". Modem works under Windows 2000 (I have dual boot), so that's not the problem.

I had a code 10 with a old videocard and that card died, but what i found on some places is that it is possible that the driver is not good for window xp. Try to find a driver on www.driverguide.com if it is an old modem and else on the site of the manufacturer.

The guys who sold me the pc only said that it was an Intel Ambient modem and gave me generic driver from Intel. Sysetem recognizes it as Intel 537EP. I tried the one they gave me and also the one currently on Intel's site. It might still be a driver issue, since I gave him the ordinary WinXP driver which I manually decorated for XP x64 (64bit) following instructions fund on Microsoft's site and here. I was unable to find a 64bit driver so I have to keep trying with this.
