Question about Opera.

Do you have to pay for Opera? I see that there are free downloads available at their website, but there is also a "buy" section? Is it a trial download?

If you use context-sensitive ads they take up no noticeable space. With a little tweaking you'll quickly get the same real estate that you were getting with IE.

Purchasing and supporting opera is well worth it if you enjoy the program. If you're a student there is a student discount available. If you can convince your campus IT to switch to opera (it's free) you'll all get free licensed versions.

Opera doesn't ask for much to run free, just ~32 px at the top of your browser. They also don't ask for much to remove the ads; it's about the price of eating out for two people.

Support software you use and love as long as the restrictions are reasonable. Your money supports the developers and continual improvements to the software.
