BIOS bugged up!HELP!!!
Well i was installing a latest BIOS from the LiveUpdate,
and it installed but now it says I have a AMD Athlon XP 1700+.....But I have a XP 3000+ in my machine??? HELP!!! I hate those damn BIOS drivers!!! How can I switch back? |

Don't panic.
All you should need to do is to enter the BIOS and select the correct CPU. Hopefully the CPU settings page has a list to pick from, else you need to enter the correct settings manually (FSB, multiplier, voltage). This is normal behavior after a BIOS update. Make sure to go through the BIOS update instructions too, like if the manufacturer has other recommendations as well. Sometimes they recommend doing a 'load setup defaults' in the BIOS or even to do a 'clear cmos' after a BIOS update. You shouldn't be in trouble this time, but updating a BIOS is a serious matter so make sure to read any information about it in beforehand.
