Ok. first, try logging on your computer as Administrator or other user account or under a new account.
if you can start IE and the Help and Support then the cause of this problem is at your profile. let try that first. -- other than a corrupted profile that might cause problem when starting IE, atm i don't have anything else. you may have to run a repair (in-place upgrade) installation at the end. unless, we can find a known issue/a solution about this. Why doesn't Help and Support work? http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm you may want to try repairing IE. backup your files first... another account doesn't work
another thing of note though - starting a link to a page will let IE run, but it will crash without error when the page begins to load same with using the "Open link in IE" extension for firefox

I was gonna suggest the same thing actually.
Sounds like your hit with some sort of spyware/adware bug. I'd give your system a good run with Spybot Search and Destroy, or some other spyware/adware removal tool. Make sure you run it in Safemode as you'll get a better cleaning out of it. - Tip |
