XP64 RTM build, sata issues...

Anyone using RAID (sata) on a XP64 RTM (AMD) build yet?

Both myself and a colleague have tried a promise 378, SI 3114, NF4 and Via controller and with all of the above and the latest beta 64bit drivers the install crashes. (Same drivers that worked on RC2 and the newer IDW build).

Basically what happens is the initial setup works fine (entering product key etc) but when the system reboots at the end of the initial setup and you get the Windows Logo (load) screen the system reboots and gets stuck in a loop.

I've narrowed it down to the sata drivers as when i remove the Sata drive and install on an ATA drive (i.e. only one hardware change) the install completes without any probs.

Anyone getting the same issue, or have a fix? (other than wait on WHQL sata/raid drivers)

Thx

Ive got it sussed!!!!!

The reboot prob is solved by adding a line to the inf.

Where your inf says:

[Manufacturer]
%Via%=Via

Its should say:

[Manufacturer]
%Via%=Via,NTamd64

same goes for Promise etc.... so

[Manufacturer]
%Promise%=Promise,NTamd64

There are loads of drivers out there from pre RC1 which dont have this command and RTM needs it
