Might I suggest my personal pick from the "Heavenly visions" section atm...one by our very own fireball and that I am using now, I give you Duality.

http://www.hardwareheaven.com/heavenly-visions/70719-duality.html

It's good stuff, enjoy.

PS: and battleaxe, I've just seen your new avie now, welcome to the force, and nice choice.

Digital Blasphemy. Some free ones, some you need to pay for, but all very nice.

Edit: THIS is the one I personally use on my main machine (resized to 1280x1024).

I've never seen any good gif wallpapers. Most are too small, or just suck, so I won't bore you with posting those. As for Flash wallpaper, Fash Wallpaper 1.01 will change any SWF animation into an installable wallpaper. Really cool too. Only thing is it's not free. Another would be Sparkles SWF Desktop. Again, not free, but they have a cheaper version.

Most sites will charge money for Flash based wallpapers.. at least the ones that look pretty decent. Usual fee is around $15.00. One site that comes to mind would be Elefun Desktops (they have one called Amazing Waterfall 3.1).

Sorry I can't be of more help here.

I checked in temp files to see if it would have some in there from sites ive been to but no go. Any idea on how to copy the flash files?

because gif by its technical limitations is restricted to 256 colours.

flash files arent natively supported by windows as a desktop "image", MS have their own active desktops for moving imagery, however they hit resources and CPU time and I wouldnt recommend them at all.

There are programs to allow you to display flash as a desktop "picture" ill hunt them out, but im sure google would show some results.

tried google for ages, saw some but all crap...

there is one program, Flash Desktop, but you still need seperate flash images for it.

They should be in the temp internet folder, usually C:\Documents and Settings\'Users Name'\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files, but don't forget that if you have it setup to clear the cache these temp files will get erased when you close out, in this case, Internet Explorer.

For Mozilla products it's C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\'profile name'\Cache, but in this case the name of the SWF file is generated, and it has no extension. In this case you need to hunt down the file by it's size, and date created (open that folder, go to a website that has a flash file on it, then pay attention to new files created in there).

BTW: Thanks for posting that link EVO. Was trying to remember that site address for the longest time.
