Right click My Computer, go to Properties. Once you see the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab, then click the 'Settings' button under the Startup and Recovery section. On the next window that pops up, you will want to uncheck 'Automatically restart', and press OK.

Should fix the problem

On top of MythicaLs suggestion I would also think about updating, or reinstalling your network card drivers (uninstall, reboot, then reinstall). I've been having this issue the last couple days with this machine, but ONLY when I'm using the network (transferring data between machines, or using Firefox). I reinstalled the NIC drivers, and so far it seems stable... I hope.

Also, if you want to root out the problem you should look at the Event Viewer under Control Panel, Administrator Tools, Event Viewer. When the program is up look on the left pane under 'System'. It'll tell you what piece of hardware failed, or under 'Application' if it was a piece of software.
