not sure what's causing it but try this...
for the regular logon screen at the log on press Ctrl-Alt-Del twices to bring the classic log on dialog, log on the computer as Administrator, after you get to desktop open the Run box and type in control userpasswords2 and Enter. you'll get the User Accounts dialog in front of you, Check in front of the "User must enter a user name and password..." if it's unchecked, and then click on your user name and click Apply, then uncheck it and click Apply, this should take you to the next dialog... the "Automatically Log On" dialog. type in the password for this user and click OK two times to close both dialogs. |

ok this is really weird,
at first to get into windows i went into safemode, when asked for a password i just pressed enter and it worked, i then created a new administrator and rebooted. Typed in that name and pass at the windows startup and loged into windows. From there i switched uses to my original account and removed my old password (note: in windows the password worked) i also switched from the classic to the normal logon, rebooted and loged in as the original user. I did those things you mentioned above and rebooted, and it prompted me for a password at the classic logon (note: no password was enabled) so i couldnt log back in. I had to go in using the secondary account again and repeat the above steps. It seems this is only happening with the classic logon. (password not working) To get in i have to goto into tweak UI and enabe automatic login, otherwise i cant get in using my main account...

try using the password for your account, use the welcome screen log on first, and then create the password in Control Panel/User Accounts and redo the above steps, then reboot and see if you still get the auto log on, and then change back to use the classic log on and see.

This happens when you update your .Net Environment through Windows Update.
Same thing happened to me and yeah, just go through control userpasswords2. |
