Problem with XP not loading Nvidia driver

I posted this in the Nvidia forum but as their have been no replies I thought this might be a better place.

Wonder if anyone can help with this problem.

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with 3GB of RAM & a GeForce 6800 GTO with 256MB and I am getting the following:

If I use the /3GB XP boot.ini switch the Nvidia drivers do not load, if I don't use the switch they do. I have tried both the Dell & Omega drivers with the same effect. I could really do with using the /3GB switch so that Photoshop will use as much memory as possible.

Any ideas from anyone?

Thanks Louis

Driver May Not Be Loaded with the /3GB Switch
- try the new /USERVA memory-management switch. You can use this switch to tune the memory that is allocated above 2 GB to User mode and taken from the kernel. By doing this, you can find a number that permits the driver to be loaded.

Thanks for the reply, I think that you may be correct in the use of the /USERVA switch. We have just found an MS knowledge base article that gives the exact symptoms (KB319043).
