Hey guys... i just got a new digital camera (fujifilm finepix Z1) and i got it working and every thing.... i installed the cd that came with the package.... i did every thing i can think of and when i connect the usb cable to the stand (that is connected to the camera) i get this message that pops up in the bottom tray that says
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it." i tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it and every time it gives me the same error i tried using 2 different usb cabels to plug into the picture cradle still got the same error... i tried searching for the driver with the windows wizard thing and it wouldent even show up that theres a driver in the cd drive or on my hard drive ![]() i have no idea what to do now :-/ can any one give me ideas or help???? thanks nathan!

I have a couple of ideas for you to try. First, the camera may require usb2.0. Make sure that you have 2.0 ports and the usb drivers installed for them. They can be a pain in the neck as the install process for them is different than other drivers. You may need to visit your motherboard brand site to get the drivers.
Another idea is to try a different usb port. I have a scanner that will not be recognized on one of my usb ports. You may also need to plug everything in before you power the system up. just a couple of ideas to try. I hope you get it working. Grinner |

that and...
try uninstalling the drivers first and then removing the USB device from the PC then reboot, after that try the step 'Remove and reinstall all USB controllers' see in this KB article General USB troubleshooting in Windows XP, and then re-install the driver and plugin the USB cord and go to the Device Manager and do the "Scan for hardware changes" or reboot your PC and see. |
