Black Screen with Welcome screen!!!!

Hello people i have had this problem before !!! but i will first explain whats going on

The first time i had the problem!!!!

When i turn on my computer i see it booting ect. then i see the XP logo and then the screen goes black and the mouse pointer appeares but no picture!!!! only mouse pointer and nothing else so i went into safe mode and removed my Omega 5.1`s and put on omega 5.4`s and every thing was fine untill

It was happening the second time!!!

similar happend as above see xp logo and see pointer on screen but the rest is black but the welcome screen eventuley apperes after about 5 minits!!!!! i dont want to remove my drivers but i want to fix it allso please tell me how to fix this crazy problem!!!

Hmmm try driver cleaner as BMX said... Otherwise, try the vid card in another PC to find out if it's the card the problem.

All you really need to do is uninstall the drivers, and reboot into normal mode. This way you'd at least be able to find out if it is a driver problem.

Also, double check what other software is starting up. Could be a conflict. Disable the startup items one by one until you have figured out which program it could be giving you probs.

In relation to this, what was the last program you installed, or last thing you did before this started happening? Does this problem happen when you do a cold boot (where the system is shut down), or when you reboot?

i have another problem my programs are lagging! it takes 7minets to start up crazy browser or outlook and allso the computer only seems to lag really bad when i first connect to the internet!!!

this seemed to happen when i first put on Omega 5.4`s !!!! and iam waiting for 5.5 !!!! i neeeed it !!!!

PS. i removed my 5.1 drivers when they did this!!!(uno black screens and lagging) and rebooted in normal mode (widows was useing generic drivers) and there was no black screens with welcome screens and related user activities ! so i have rurled it out plain and simple!

Omegas are causeing a problem! i hope Omegas`5.5 will fix this!

Omega's don't cause problems like that. Only people who mess up the installation somehow.

did you us DRIVER CLEANER YET??

Aye, use driver cleaner, especially after using the 5.1's they were the screwyest set yet, and probably left a whole bunch of unneeded crap. Also defrag, but if nothing else works, then just reformat.

lol reformat!!!!! i dont think so u see "format screwup A lots a games DAY!" if i translate that ! it reads

Yep, simple as that, all drivercleaner does is clean up all the files that the Catalyst drivers install.

I don't think this is an Omega driver bug, I think it is user error.
