OK from what I saw with a quick compare.... after installing WMP10, go to start->run, type "services.msc" and stop+disable the "Windows User Mode Driver Framework" service (that's installed with WMP10). Do the same for the service "WMDM PMSP Service"

this's the new services and drivers that WMP 10 has added to the Windows system.
the service/driver is auto start/load with the Windows. they may or may not be directly caused the BSOD... ![]() here's about the driver - http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/wdf/wdf-intro.mspx when i have time i'll see if more information about this drivers and its compatible with other drivers are available through the WMP newsgroup and let you know if i found any... ------ the kmixer (Kernel Mode Audio Mixer) driver entries are also changed. will have to find some info about this changes too. below is what we need to see/know... What's the different between the two files. ![]() ----------- Quote:
as you know we are trying to find the cause of the problem so that we can locate a fix or find a way around it. when we have to start the process over i'd like you to restore the operation of the Windows with exact image since this will return everything to the previous state completetly, which the LKG configuration and the XP's system restore tool cannot do that. and as i can see this is one of a difficult problem and you may need to restore the Windows to the previous state many time before we can even find abit of information that we think that might help (something i forgot to ask or tell you the last time and you ahve to start over.). i cannot tell you to reformat/reinstall the Windows so many times so the exect image is the best way to go about... ------- also, as i've said before. you will not be able to use the system until you can find the cause of the problem and a fix or a workaround for it. you'll have to test your hardware and software systems by using all of the old drivers that you have used before this problem occurs. another words.. return you Windows system (both hardware and software are included) to previous state which you never see this problem happens. have you ever tried that yet? if not, try that. and list all the changes you've made to the Windows system up to the point where you found this problem. thanks again for all the help i really do hope we can find a fix for this cause it's starting to drive me bananas. Had a look for the file version of wdfmgr.exe and it is 5.2.3790.1230.
I am just about to try and reformat and install windows using the exact same drivers that i had before (just need to find kx audio driver 3536 first) and see if this problem still occurs. I'll post back when i have the net up and running and hopefully a lack of BSOD!

you don't know which hardware to change so it would help fixing the problem, you can't use the software you like cause it give a BSOD everytime you try installing it. so this would be the worst kind of problem in the PC.
i want you to be able to fix the problem. i'm sure you'll find the cause of the BSOD but it may take time just be patient. |

ok things are looking good at the moment. Ive reformat windows again but this time used an older graphics card driver and an older audio driver. I've installed all the drivers for all hardware attached to the system and even managed to install WM10 along with quicktime, winboost and a couple of others that it had crashed on previously and at the moment there is no sign of a blue screen
.When i get back in tonight i will try install all the usual programs i have on and see what happens. I just have my fingers crossed at the moment each time i restart in case the BSOD decides to rear its uglt head again. So all is well at the moment (touch wood) but i'll not be convinced till everything else is installed and i give it some proper stress tests and benchmarks to see if it is truly working properly. I will keep you posted.

![]() ![]() ![]() i think my computer is running fine now you'll be glad to hear. Have installed all previous programs ive had on without site of a single BSOD although i still live in fear every time i restart my computer! Ran a couple of benchmarks to put the computer under some strain and it seems to be ok. im so happy! Guess i'll never quite find out what the problem was but im thinking it was probably the latest omega driver or latest KX audio driver. I find it hard to believe that either was the case as i have been using these drivers for ages without any problems but suppose i could well have been. I will definitely be taking an image of my drive evertime i install something major now. Once again thank you for the all the help you have all given me (especially PangingJr) i really do appreciate it. If i do see that BSOD again (apart from in my nightmares ) then i will be sure to post here again. Fingers crossed and touch wood that doesn't happen. Thanks again. talkshowhost

![]() ![]() ![]() hmm sorry for dragging this topic back up but it seems this problem has reared it's ugly head again! computer has been running fine for a few weeks now and then when i tried to install alcochol 120% demo the BSOD came back...aghh! figured i could easily live without this program and restored my c: drive back to how it was using norton ghost. it has also done it when i tried to install drivers for an xbox controller but again thought i could live without this BUt today i just got black & white 2 and then after restarting my computer once i'd installed it i got this BSOD. now this is something im not prepared to live without and i really want to get to the bottom of this. If it's a hardware problem then im just going to buy a replacemetn to fix this problem once and for all. Thanks in advance for heping me with this.

How long have you been using this computer before experiencing the BSOD problem?
i still think it is about one of device drivers installed that causes this problem. check out the following Google searches for the "Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests"... Google searched... Sitesearch=support.microsoft.com... Searched all groups... |
