My question is about the "System Volume Infomation" folder Windows XP makes on all your hard drives I had a virus on my comp i inadvertently opened a file that i thought was from a friend then found out that he never sent it so i deleted the files but i had problems ofcourse so i did a system restore to 2 days before now i hope i got rid of it but every once in a while my norton pops up with a virus warning in my System Volume Infomation folder is there a way to get rid of it without formating the hard drive ?

I think you have to shut down sytem restore and then do a virus scan. You can enable it after you're sure there is no trace of the virus.
