Questions.
What kind of printer/copier/fax? What driver version are you trying to install? And on the "stupid but safeside" question, how is it connected to his 'puter?

I get that "burner not supported" crapola too. But for me, it's just with the "Direct CD" portion of Easy CD Creator. I don't use that program anyway, it turns your CDRW's into junk, it locks them into that "direct CD" format and won't let go of it. Which can cause you problems if you refomat or want to use the disk in a "normal" sense, because it will only allow access to any writing on the CD with the system from which the information was originally written with, and only with DirectCD. It's fine if you want to protect a CD from unauthorised access/erasure, but can turn a CDRW into a coaster real quick. At least that's how it worked back in Easy CD Creator 3.5, I haven't tried to use it since.
My CDR drive is a Plextor 24x10x40.... So, if it's talking about DirectCD program within Easy CD Creator and the "not supported" thing, don't worry about it. Just don't install that particular program. It blows anyway. Just in case you are not aware, go to www.roxio.com to get updates to Easy CD Creator. They make you register, but it's no big deal. |

what kind of a burner is it? easy cd creator has patch files for newer burners. if it is new try that. you can get it from their downloads section depending on whether it is the basic version or plat. version.

Just installed XP Home this past Saturday night. Couldn't get Nero Burning ROM (latest edition update) to work even after reinstalling it.
Soooo...I uninstalled it and installed my EZ CD Creator 5 Platinum and then updated it from the ROXIO website. Worked great (if not kind of slowly) on my system for what I needed to do. To tell the truth, though, I've been looking for a good excuse to install EZ CD on this newer machine anyways. I'd heard so much good about NERO that I decided to install it when I got it with my latest burner. I really didn't quite get to liking it after having used EZ CD since version 2. Dyre Straits |
