Realtek ALC861 drivers problem

hi
i would like to update the drivers of this audio card
but when i unstall these drivers , they use the (system restore feature of xp) and after the uninstalling , it ***** my pc

what can i do?

System Specs

Could have something to do with the driver you are using. Here is one from a trusted site that is WHQL certified:

MajorGeeks ALC861 Driver

Try that and see, OK?

this drive i found on the asus download page , the problem start when i try to disintall!!!!
because it uses part of windows xp system restore , and goes back to a mounth ago

to update the drivers should i write over the old drivers or shoud i clean before and install the new?

maybe the driver cleaner could help me

Or maybe when you try to uninstall the old drivers you can turn off the system restore feature, then turn it back on after you get the new ones installed.

I know Windows can be <unprintable> frustrating. The trick is to carry a really big <unprintable> hammer.

System Specs

Not sure totally what effect it will have, but you could try to "Update Drivers..." after decompressing the file you downloaded and pointing the Update Wizard to the Folder with the decompressed files - performed from the Properties dialog box of your audio device in the Device Manager...

by the way i'm not sure the drivers links are right http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4400.html


i don't know the different from hd audio codec and ac'97 audio coded , and i know know which file shoud i download!!

System Specs

"This driver supports all ALC series audio chipsets from ALC101 up to ALC861"

That means alcxxx chipsets are AC97 so use those drivers safely

i have a p5gd1 asus motherboard and seems that the Realtek ALC861 official drivers give a lot of conglict with the ata controller

Has somebody this motherboard?
