Missing/Corrupt Windows file Help!
Yesterday I tried to run Perfectdisk, but after a minute into it a black screen popped up and said Windows could not load because of a missing or corrput file. It was a System 32 file. I had no idea what to do so I inserted the Windows disk and was going to do a repair install, but I didn;t know how to do that either. Another black screen popped up and asked me something about "location"??...anyway I simply restarted and somehow Windows booted???? I have no idea how - it's like Windows fixed itself.
Anyway my question is: if this ever happens again how do I fix the missing file? and if repair install is the answer what do I type in for the "location"? Thanks guys

First thing I would do is wirte down the actual file name so you can find it more easily.

You should be able to, as long as you can find the file.
Honestly on my own rig when I have issues like this i back up everything that needs it since my last backup and reinstall Windows. I've always found that once you start having issues they only get worse over time. Its really much easier if you have a small partition for just your OS on the drive, then you don't lose much, if any data.
