Strange boot issue with Windows XP x64

I'm currently having problems with my computer booting properly, it seems to be the same whether its a cold boot or a reboot. Windows gets to the windows XP X64 loading screen, I hear my soundcard initialise as you hear a sort of bump sound sort of like when someone taps a mic, anyway just after that happens the computer suddenly reboots, after the third attempt it boots into windows fine.

Occaisionaly the graphics card will take its time when switching screen modes too :S well greater than 2 seconds which definatly isn't right.

I have all the latest drivers installed all the windows updates installed.

Anyone got any suggestions as to what this problem could be?

I had a similiar problem and it turned out to be corrupt video drivers....I don't know if that helps. Good luck though!!

Yeah i've wondered if it was something like this, so i reinstalled to see if it fixed and downloaded all my drivers again. Surely though if its a corrupt driver the hardware would BOSD in windows? but once in windows its rock solid :S so i'm all at sea on this one.
