Need Help!!!!! No desktop????
I started up my computer and everything is good until I get to the Welcome screen in xp. It comes up with a error and says explorer can't be loaded??? Then it just loads nothing but my wallpaper but I can ctrl alt delete to run programs and everything is still there. I also have no start menu. I start it up in safe mode and it's fine. I really have no idea what to do? Any help would be great!

I ran a search on that particular error with no results. Just a question, but have you tried any theme modifiers like Windowblinds or anything like that? and one more: have you tried the system restore utility and gone back to the last time you had it boot up ok?
Other than that, I don't run the explorer shell anymore. I replaced it with Sharp E about 4 months ago. If you want to try that you can go to the site below: http://sharpe-shell.org/news.php

Well no I don't use any theme modifiers and I turned off System restore... I guess now it was not such a good idea but hey it did save me some space on my hard drive. O well maybe I will try your program that you use. Any other help would be great thanks!!!
EDIT: No thanks I don't really like that program I saw some of the screen shots. I just want it back to the way it was

When it gives you that error, hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and right-click in the Applications box and select New Task, then type Explorer.exe and hit enter. Does it give you an error at that point?

Well I tried your idea and it did not work. Also I don't have system restore on. Another thing Safe mode works fine as if nothing is wrong. So I am guessing that there has to be a program or something thats making it not work?

have you enabled/disabled any services (either through services.msc, etc.) since the problem began?
Did you interupt a defragmentation progress? Do you have photoshop 7 installed? |

Ok, try something else:
Create a new Windows account and log into that one and see if you still get that error. If that fails, uninstall and reinstall your drivers. |
