usb2 problems ehd-350

I dont know if this is in the right section but didnt know what place to put it.

I recently bought a Enermax EHD-350 External Station which turns an IDE hdd into a USB2 drive. I'm having problems with this device in usb2, if I try and copy files in excess of a few hundred meg windows just kicks it out after about 20seconds saying the drive is not ready and windows cannot write to the drive. I have tested the device in usb1.1 and tried it on another pc with usb2 with the same results.
Im running xp pro sp2, is there anyway to get another usb2 driver or anyother way to fix my problem.
