sounds to mee that the CD don't have the "bootrecord" where to boot from, or CD-boot is not enabled, or the boot order is wrong...

enable in the bios for it to boot from the cd. Have you done that? then you gotta press any key when it tells you.

Donator
Maybe there was no OS installed on the drive when he did it. Now it looks on the hard drive for a boot record first. You may have to change the boot order in the bios to check the CD drive first.

You might have to press delete to get into bios, then look for boot priority and set cd-rom as first boot option. You might let us know what motherboard you have if you're having difficulties, some have different options to get into bios.

When pressing f8on reboot I get the options to:
Safe Mode
Safe Mode w/ Networking
Safe Mode w/ Command Prompt.

Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA Mode
Last Known Good Configuration
Directory Services Restore Mode
Debugging Mode
Disable Automatic restart on system failure

Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu

Try F10 as well, some boards respond to that.

if you could provide us just the name (and maybe model too) of your motherboard then i'm sure we can help you better.
we can tell you what to do, what nexts... etc. and things like this will normally not be too complicated and it can still be done by you.

<Delete> kay is used on many motherboard and BIOS setup program.

you could try F10 - F12 keys or try all Fxx keys other than the F8.

also, some boards have a seperate boot menu (like pressing <F12> for boot menu) and you don't need to go into the setup program to change it.
this key will be used for a temporary change on a specific system boot.
