weird performance with omega 3.8 (dell leaked)

I`m overall very satisfied with the newest omega 3.8 (nwn has better IQ, battlefield runs 100% faster at 1400x1050). but when I tried ut2003 it ran much slower, tried the benchmark and the fps on botmatch went down from 45 to 28 (totally unplayable with much action, and the IQ looked the same). The last drivers I used was the 3.2s and the changes I mentioned are compared to them. could anyone tell me what major changes that`s been made in the 3.8 omegas that so badly affect my ut2003 performance?maybe there`s something I can fix myself?has this anything to do with the fact that I have a laptop?

ive heard from some people they are experiencing opengl performance issues with this set. have you tried many other games to get a broader scope of any possible problems?

also how did you install the drivers?

I didn't run it with fraps but I noticed huge frame rate loss compared to D3D.....

using the stat fps command from the console at 1024X768x32@100Hz with 2XAA and 8XAF the game was hardly playable framerates were in the teens and low 20's....in D3D with the same settings I average between 60 and 90 fps and it's smooth as butter.... I am using 2.4.96a for drivers.....

I use OpenGL in ut2003, the d3d-performance is about as bad as the opengl performance. but in batttlefield the performance is much better than other cat`s (3.2, 3.5, 3.7 and 3.8). the usual 3.8 runs ut2003 slow as well so it`s not omega`s fault, but the omegas gave me a huge boost in battlefield 1942...

I have now tried the 3.7 catalysts and they also seem to lower the opengl performance. what major change has been made with the opengl in the catalyst-drivers from 3.7 and 3.8
