Omega drivers incompatible with MS AGP?
Microsft put out this note that if you installed the SP2 you should uninstall your VIA 4in1 AGP drivers to prevent some corruption - SP2 apparently comes with its own AGP drivers. I have Abit AV8 (AMD3500, socket 939) with VIA's 4-in1 drivers and WinXP SP2 installed so I decided to uninstall the VIA drivers. It does not work. I loose AGP and my Mega Smartgard shows no AGP and if I try to rest it at 8x it asks me to reboot so it can tests if it is safe and then if I look again AGP is reset to none. I had to reinstall the VIA drivers to get AGP working again.
Thanks for any insight. |

this has nothing to omega drivers, VIA + SP2 probably bug
if you used memory tweaks you should remove it! ATI & VIA already posted data corruption FAQ |
