Great to hear Madgoat, we try and optimize for all cards and since most of our beta testers have 6x series or higher cards it can be hard to make sure we've got the earlier versions covered. We'll keep putting them out so you can save some dough

Madgoat, are you referring to the DHzp ATi 6.2 or the DHzp NV 83.60? The latter shouldn't work with a Radeon 9550... So maybe you just posted in the wrong thread? lol

i don't want to scare anyone away from the drivers but it seems I lost a bit of preformance with these drivers. I play quake3,quake4, CS:Source, and WoW and they all suffered fps losage.

My Spec:
P4 3.4GHz w/ HT
eVGA 7800GS
1GB DDR400
MSI mainboard

I used drivercleaner to remove my previous drivers and all so im not sure what was wrong.
Quake 3 was running a max 60fps....nothing should have been capping it either i checked everything there is there. CS:Source was real boggy in situations with like 15-(minus)-fps and WoW was running considerably low fps.

I went back to the latest forceware and all is good. Maybe I'll give you guys a try agian later on

huh, that's odd, these are built for HT/MT situations and we hadn't seen that kind of performance loss in beta testing, a minor hit to be sure to increasing some IQ settings but nothing too severe, we'll continue to look at it though, thanks for the feedback.

fiftyone I missed your post, I believe they are, I think the DevID is in there although it may not be named correctly, if it's not named correctly let me know your Dev ID so I can get it renamed in the next set.

Actually, It may have not been you drivers. Something happend earlier, i turned on my pc and it was booting into windows and it went to a black screen then my lcd said there was an invalid connection or something like that, so I contacted eVGA.

I read there forums and it seems like there are others having problems aswell.

You guys know of any software that will test a video card for defects or similar?

Hmm, there's probably not any programs that do that. Like I said in your other thread, you may have to RMA your card for a newer revision.

evga is great about rma. just do a cross shipment but ask them to test it 1st. aslo see if you can get the 08 vers, these seem to be having less problems. i think you will be fine with any of the newer vers though.

Well, i sent an email to thier support line and asked them about RMA so hopefully he will give me the ok to do so(never done it before, lol).

it just pisses me off that this happens you know. but i guess it can be expected with cards just being released.

I'm sure you know this already but I'll say this anyway,

* have you adjusted com_maxfps already in quake3?
* do you use 60hz/w vsync on/application preference(nv cp)?

Just some thoughts, perhaps vsync is at different state in non-modded(off)..

why would you want to? it adds a nice little boost to iq with no perf cost.
if you feel you must, for whatever reason, disable it in the startup via msconfig then delete the folder in your drivers.

There really is no performance impact it simply sets some reg values for better IQ and quits.

I tried these drivers with Oblivion while the framerates lacked the detail of this driver is great, will you guys be adding any new drivers soon?

Hey guys, these drivers just won't work at all on my GeForce 6800 GT. I tried playing World of Warcraft and my cursor lags and skips all over the screen, and the colors get all distorted as if there's some screen tearing. I also tried playing Counter-strike:Source and Day of Defeat Source as well and the same thing happens, my computer seems to lock up and the colors flash all distorted. I have no idea what's wrong, I even uninstalled the old drivers in safe mode with driver cleaner.

**edit**: I just tried rolling back to the .8195's and now my screen looks like its tearing in any game no matter what! I have no idea what's wrong, everything is unplayable.

Well, i wasn't concerned about a performance impact, but i wasn't sure i wanted to have brighter colors in everything. Also, opening the nvidia tab on the advanced display properties dialog would undo the changes until the next reboot, so i'd be afraid to ever open that.
