Having a problem here...

Hey people, im new to thins particular forum....so be nice :P

anyway...I have a problem...

I have recently bought Half Life 2: Episode 1, however, I cannot Play it for the following reasons.. (NOTE: see specs at bottom)

1. just before playing the game, a Steam window comes up saying i do not have the newest driver installed...giving me a link to my Graphics Card manufacturer (in this case: Nvidia) for a newer Driver, Ive tried all the Drivers on their page but it always comes up with a box that says: 'Installer cannot find correct hardware for driver, setup will now close'...or something along those lines...

2. The Steam box comes up with a continue Anyway option...i did this first...it started loading the game but half way through a blue screen flashes up then my pc restarts. When it has done this and the usual box comes up with 'Windows has just recovered from serious error.' and an option to error report it...i have done this but it just leads me back to the Nvidia page with all the useless drivers on it. When i tried to play Half Life 2: Lost Coast it does the same thing...but my specs are way within the minimum requirements for both, and i can play the original Half Life 2, Counter Strike and Garrys Mod fine.

3. I have since searched Google for drivers and found this site, among others. I have tried some of the top drivers for my Card on here but with little success...there are hundreds i havent tried...but there are indeed HUNDREDS of Forceware drivers and i dunno where to start.

I would appreciate if anyone could help me...Half Life is an awesome game and i am eager to play it :P

My Specs:

PC: Sony VAIO FS Series
Graphics: 128mb NVIDIA GeForce Go 6200 with TurboCache
Memory: 512mb
Processor: Intel Pentium Centrino 1.73 GHZ
Notes: Its a fairly new Laptop (9 months old) i also have plenty of Hard Drive Space.

Thanks Alot.
