7800GT And Vista issues

Hey guys,
I just upgraded to a 7800GT from an ATI X800GTO on my dual XP/Vista rig. I must say, wither I am doing something wrong or Nvidia is behind ATI in Vista support.

Ok, I am running Vista RC1 and everything worked great with their CCC divers. I was able to Play Half Life 2, Dark Messiah and City of Heroes beautifully and without any problems......then I upgraded to Nvidia.

I installed the card and didnt even bother with the software CD, I can right here and got the newest DH0 drivers I know and love!! 0.9291 installed, and I rebooted. Hmmm, still crappy resolution and no Windows Aero ( I was able to run them full with the X800). Went into device manager, everything showed up as working properly. Ran the Driver Cleaner Professional program and tried it again, rebooting after each wipe and install. I'v tried this 5 times now, each time downloading a fresh copy from the site, as well.

The ONLY thing that I noticed wrong about the install was right after it finishes and prompts me to reboot, a window shows up behind the installer, saying "RunDLL32.exe has quit" It disapears as soon as I tell it to reboot, so I think I was just missing that on the other attempts.

Sorry for the long post, but I've already tried a few things and I've stumped everyone else I know. Thats why I need DH's help!!

Here are a few screenshots to help with the diagnosis:

And the full system specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
ASrock 775Dual-VSTA
1GB Kingston DDR400
320GB SATA2
250GB SATA
120GB SATA
7800GT
Windows XP Pro SP2/Vista RC1

no newer drivers exist for Rc1

thats the problem of using an alrady out dated RC build.
