43.30 Xp

For those who missed this driver we have it mirrored on our driver download section http://www.hardwareheaven.com/downloads/index3.htm

These drivers originate from the DELL website and where originally released for Quadro4 700XGL/900XGL display adapters. the .inf file has been altered to support all graphics cards from NVIDIA to date up to NV31 and NV34.

it wasnt removed, it was closed as I had posted mine just before you with a mirror link on our download server (it was actually posted earlier by newsfactory). so you are still able to discuss in this thread. no need to take offense, its to aid conversation Matt and to keep everything in one place for ease of use.

so stop huffing and lets see the results !!

Dunno i took the inf from the 43.00 out.
Then copyed over the 43.30 over the top of 43.00.
Replaced the inf back. My cowboy job on the drivers.
Reporting 43.30 in Driver version information.
Thats with my Ti4400

Had a few games of C&C Generals, Work alot Better, Lighting is looking good.

when you say they work alot better, you mean the smoothness?

what about IQ? some of the recent Nvidia sets ive tried have been really poor on this front.

is performance any better or worse in benchies?

i had about 4/5 resolutions more with all other detonator drivers. these 3 are with the new 43.30, so i guess it's back to 43.00.

That's strange, I didn't have that problem, of course I use a refresh rate fix so I only can choose the resolutions I set a refresh rate for anyway. Unless you like a headache inducing 60 hz in openGL games, I imagine you do to. Wht can't you just set the refresh rates up in there- then you will be able to choose them from the display properties.

why are you so apprehensive about installing drivers? you make a comment like that whenever a new set is released..

Yeah I just got my shit so perfect with the 42.86 that I'm always paranoid as to the source of the drivers and the performance gain. Especially that these come from Dell...I don't trust that.

my advice is if you never feel comfortable or happy with the origins of a driver set and installing, reinstalling and are getting good performance atm, then dont install!

I've got to say, though.... With a GF2, especially an MX, it's unlikely there aer many or even ANY speed boosts left coming your way. I'd find some semi-recent set that has good performance, no issues, and supports your desired features... Not like you're going to get any big speedups, since you'll be fillrate limited in pretty much anything recent...

I'm really not trying to bash or get down on you or your card, but I wouldn't even pay attention to drivers anymore, unless someone finds some Det 44.03.1 that they jump up and down and get a 500% performance boost and no IQ hit with... Then I'd try them out and see.

I'm wondering something 420, are you getting that new CPU soon? If so, why did you even get it at all? I would have spent the money on a ti4200 or something, the new cpu isn't going to make your games any faster w/ that card- but a new card w/ your CPU would have made a HUGE difference. Just wondering what's up. Maybe it wasn't even your dicision, I have no idea.
