nVidia ForceWare 97.44

http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...xp_english.exe
for the driver

http://www.zaimc.com/temp/nv4_disp.zip
for the classic menu modded .inf which works

also coolbits.reg works fine with it

GLARE!

i know who made that inf!

and NO do not use that inf

use this one for english

http://techiedownloads.com/downloads...4/nv4_disp.zip

and this one for international
http://techiedownloads.com/downloads...4_disp_int.zip

both are updated for 97.44 (where yours is a 97.28 inf.. and hasn't had some updates to it....)
and both contain a modded modes.txt file to fix some missing res problems.

neiter of these is for XP64.....hasn't updated the XP64 infs lately... my friend hasn't...

Well Petri, they work just fine on my 7800GS. Did you bother to replace the .inf before you ran setup?

All I meant was the modded .inf.
And I never saw any problems when I used the drivers as well.

yeah, but still. you should use the inf thats made for the newer sets

97.28 inf doesn't have some of the newer settings that are from the 97.44 inf.

the 97.28 inf probably still codes the 8800GTX to "gf8" instead of the nv4_nv3x settings too, which, while it works, isn't reccomended on a full release like that [the gf8 artifact is left over from the 97.02 which were a leak for the 8800 only]

indeed, it does, i pointed that out to my friend and he said
'97.02 had the gf8 bit becoz it was only made for the G80's, 97.28 had it still well but 97.44 didn't..'

also. with 97.44's infs, he has copied in the nvmodes sections from older infs and fixed the modes.txt to fix the missing resolutions.

1. download the .exe from the nvidia website
2. double click the installation file
3. after you click next next it will extract all files into C:\NVIDIA\Win2KXP\97.44 but after that process, cancel the setup. then click YES to agree to cancelling setup.
4. go to the C:\NVIDIA\Win2KXP\97.44 folder, and paste in the nv4_disp.inf and click YES to confirm overwrite
5. run setup.exe and install driver as per usual

good luck

yeah waht´ll be the next gpu G90? before they get the drivers working they´ll be extinct hehehe.

one might be happy if the 8800 cards are available in march april cards seem to dissapear awfully fast from the market once i got the money they are obsolete.

well this card can kick ass in most of today´s games.

DX10 well it is far away for me

I finally got to put these in and they work just as well as the 92.91s if not better. The only bad thing I noticed is that after putting in coolbits the clock settings formy e-VGA 6800GS AGP core was at 400mhz and for MEM it was at 2.2GHZ So I manually set the clock since I only use RivaTuner for Vertex unlocking on my 6800GS next I'll test profiles with the defualt control panel and see if that works if not then I got nHancer to use. so far so good with these ones.

Is this a recommended install for a eVga 7950 gt?
I don't particularly want to install the stock drivers (latest=93.71)...

What do you guys recommend?
