Major lag when accessing driver Settings
My system lags when accessing driver settings. Even a simple right click on the desktop will cause this lag.
To more accurateley describe the "lag", it's like my computer goes into slow motion & goes into a series of freezes for multiple seconds at a time. Very annoying. Click "Advanced" from the desktop Display Properties seems to be the most trouble, as it takes a good 10 seconds of lag/freezing before it finally opens up the Nvidia display settings. Noticed this issue over a year ago, but from that time until now it seems to have gotten worse. And for the first time, in a game it might be occuring too -- while playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion everything is smooth then for no apparent reason this same lag begins to occur. Any possible explanation, solutions, or tips would be appreciated. Graphics card: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT ( Forceware 93.71 ) System: AMD Athlon 2400+, 768 DDR PC2100, 2x 80 GB 7200 RPM, Windows XP Pro SP2 |

Thanks, yeah I tested each of my RAM sticks individually and the issue still occurs.
Without Nvidia drivers installed, I can right click the desktop or access display settings without any problem. Prince Link, can you describe any more details about your system and this lag issue? Still happening for you or is it resolved by removing Coolbits ? |

To elaborate, coolbits no longer works on driver series 93.xx and up. NV removed support due to overheating issues on 79xx series cards. Currently, the only official support for OCing your NV card is through using nTune.
As far as I'm informed, support for nTune may not exist in Vista. |

coolbits works and the classic cp is back, once the corresponding registry entries have been put back into the inf.
but as i have said... once coolbits is installed.... the desktop flashs at startup and the system locks up at bootup for a few secs when the tray loads, and again when you try to access the classic cp... im pretty sure the old cp is ok.... Also. Classic CP is still in FW 93 and coolbits works in it.... i think nvidia is doing this purposely to push everyone onto the crap that is the new cp...
