Resolution & Refresh Rate setting on nVidia 7800GTX

greeting all,

i wonder any one can help on my problem listed below:

i have a 17 crt monitor & i wanna run it with resolution 1280*1024 @ 47Hz (Interlaced). previously i was on raddy x1600pro i had no problem running the resolution @ refresh rate mentioned above using omega driver. recently just upgraded to a OEM 7800GTX and i find it i can no longer do so.

tried manually adjusting those advance settings but still yet to find the solution. can u guys give some inputs coz i don't wanna upgrade to lcd yet

thanks in advance for the help...

Why would you want to run that resolution at that low of a refresh rate? Is that the maximum resolution and refresh rate the monitor supports?

interlaced @ 47Hz is alot more better to my eye if compared to normal mode @ 60Hz. the latter flickers alot while interlaced mode gimme better viewin experience (just that the crt will looks more to a tv since the horizontal scanlines are abviously visible).

the monitor had no problem doin 1280*1024 @ 47Hz interlaced with a raddy (on omega driver), but with this new 7800gtx, it is unachievable...

hmmm....try this, although it may not work.

right click on desktop > click properties > settings tab > advanced button > monitor tab > uncheck button that says "hide modes that this monitor cannot display". upon doing that you should be able to change the resolution to the 47Hz interlaced.

If the monitor can support 1280x1024 @ 70Hz or higher, that would be best for the eyes. Any refresh rate lower than 65Hz, is typically bad for your eyes.

yup, i did that with my raddy, that's why i manage to run 1280*1024 @ 47Hz (interlaced) with unchecking the "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" check box. but with nVidia, no selection available for the mentioned option.

i think some modification needed for the inf file, but i'm too noob for that. maybe i should refer to the inf file from the radeon omega driver.

no, do NOT use an ATI file for an NVIDIA file, and vice versa.....that is unless you want problems .

i don't have any modded *.inf files, so i'm outta ideas. talk to pr0digal Jenius, ad f0bis....they makes drivers, so maybe he can help you out.

ofcourse i won't just simply use the ATI inf file, i will refer to the resolution & refresh rate initialization part, maybe can get some ideas there.

thanks alot for the feedback bro, hopefully the mods can do me some favors. will give it a go tonight when 'im free...

Have you got a driver installed for your monitor? If not do a search for it and install that then try setting the refresh rate.
