I got pissed that my latest handywork was rendered obsolete so quickly, (5 stinking minutes), so I thought I'd best post this new one quick before they release something again.
![]() You can grab it here, it's only 5Kb and it includes everything you'll need except the 29.42 driver set for 9x/me. (Even a spiffy-new "readme.txt" )

I agree that nview just gets in the way. I just cancel the nview install when i installed the 29.42 and then i go into the regsitry and modify the entries with MenuShowDelay"0" and MinAnimate"0" and that makes my screens quick just like nview does.
I hear ya Digital don't ya just hate it when no one replies to your post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just view but no comment................come on people register and post jeez!

- Remove the NView - From Nvidia Detonators =============================== I'm sure like me, some of you are not particularly over the moon about this new Nvidia software gadget. It's all very well for these rich bastards with 2 cards and 3 monitors but some of us do not need or want such additions. Click Read More to find out how to kill it. Note: This is for Win2K/XP drivers specifically but the overall process would likely be somewhat similar for Win9x/ME. I remember there being a couple of beta detonators recently where NView had been tampered with. Logic says someone tried to get rid of it right? This started me thinking. How hard could it be? I had already modified the 28.80 .inf file to fix the refresh rate issue. The 28.80's were modded to work with the Refresh rate fix program but I converted them back to the new compressed mode format for manual adjustment. Quite simply all you have to do is remove all reference to NView via the NV4_disp.inf file. NView is not an integral part of the detonators but simply an add-on feature. First at the top you will see the [DestinationDirs] section. Remove the lines -nv.nview -nv.nview.Quadro Next is the [SourceDisksFiles] section. ALL reference to the following files must be removed -nview.dll -nwiz.exe -generic.tvp -advanced.tvp -finance.tvp -dcc.tvp -cad.tvp and ALL .dll files starting with nvw. You could also remove all help files starting with nvw at this time. You won't be needing them. Moving on down you will notice the section [nv4]. On the top line is the entry "copyfiles=nv4.Miniport...etc.. you will see nv.nview in this list. As you move down you will notice many such sections with the same line "copyfiles=...etc..." nv.nview and possibly nv.nview.Quadro will be included in most if not all of the entries. These must also be removed. The nview entries not the whole sections. LOL Moving past this section you will come to the File List Sections for nv.Display & nv.miniport. Scroll down to [nv.Panel] and remove 'nview.dll' and 'nwiz.exe' Scroll down to [nv.Panel.Localised] and remove ALL .dll files starting with nvw Further down should be [nv.nview] & [nv.nview.Quadro] Entirely remove both. Next is the Nvidia Add registry section. I wouldn't recommend removing the entire [nv_ControlPanel Settings] section just take out the lines containing nview & nwiz. Well, now you should be able to delete those nview files from the det folder. Don't worry if you still get the control panel icon for nview, this can be removed using REGEDIT. It is only the icon. If you check the driver's properties after installation you will see no mention of Nview. Removing the .dll's in not too important as they can also be removed after installation. From x-bios.ru |

What's wrong with just turning it off in the control panel?
