Nvidia g80 Driver ? anyone have any idea ?

Does anyone have any idea when a new driver is going to be released...
im very pissed at nvidia becuse i expected when i bought this card that i wouldnt have to wait for driver releases... i mean in the 2 months the card has been out nvidia havent really fix any problems and there is a lot of problems with this card

why isnt nvidia fixing them, i thought they would have released fixes faster than this...

also on the game oblivion im getting terrible performance...
example, at the start even in the dungeons before you hit outside im getting very poor frame rates... im into the 20s most of the time when fighting is happning or when im seeing those robed guys trying to attack the king..

im only running the card at 8xaa16xaf aswell, i expected more from this card.
its a freaking GTX for freaking sake..

lol....not sure.

have you tried all three driver sets?

but you also need to remember that the x2 4400 will bottleneck your gfx card. you need at least an e6600 for it to perform the way it should. Also, at the settings you're running the card, would an inferior 7950gx2 perform on par to it in Oblivion? I doubt it. And the performance issue could also be power supply related.

here is a pickle for ya, i was getting way way way faster frame rates useing my X1900XTX... than im getting with this GTX in oblivion.
and how can it be my powersupply ? im useing a 700W OCZ PSU GameXtreme.

im going down into the mid 20s even at the start of the game, it would be a shock of 10fps when i hit outdoors at this rate...

i have noticed though whats slowing the card or my system down,, the slowdowns appear to be the NPCs or Monsters or rats.. only these things slow the card down when i dont look at NPCs at all i get my full vsync of 75fps..

wonder what could have caused this with NPcs completely crippleing my card.

The NPC's are obviously mad you switched to Nvidia

Peculiar, did you wipe your system when you put the new card in? That can cause peculiarities if you didn't.

here is another pickle for ya

at the start of the game when the demons are fighting the kings guards

i run multiple runs of the same area

0xaa 16xaf = down into the 20s
8xaa 16xaf = down into the 20s
16xaa 16xaf = down into the 20s..

no matter what i do with the settings nothing gives me more performance its just the same no matter what, i dont understand it...

go back to 97.02

97.44 has a bug which cripples the memory speeds (the memory speeds of banks 2 and 3 are dropped to 400mhz)

97.02 won't help, thats the first driver where the memory bug first appeared.

dont get it, NPCs are draging my GTX down to mid 20s
and this happens with any type of AA or without AA...

freaking annoying, when there is no NPCs or monsters about i get my full frames !

back where lol 97.02 and 97.44 do the same. tested both.

its weird, i managed to get out into the world and it was running very very fast and smooth

but when i encounter any enemy or npcs ect, i get slowdown...
you would think the world outdoors would impact me more but it doesnt outside runs super fast, intowns with npcs ect slows me down..

very weird.

dunno when drivers are being released.

my best guess is that NVIDIA will release a new set of drivers for these cards when Vista is released.

well i can say that it is too bad that Nvidia can´t fix driver´s for their new cards and at the same time i´m happy i didn´t rush for the G80 as it seems be alot of bugs orblems and stuff so i´ll wait a while but it is weird that oblivion don´t work for ya

Guys, do any of you have evidence of this memory bug other than rumours? I'm v interested in what you are saying and have asked NV about it... initial response is that the person i spoke to isnt aware of any issue... so examples/links etc apprecaited.

well people are complaining about lower fps on 97.44 and rivatuner is showing the clocks are low on others...

Well I havent came across any memory related issues with any of the driver sets, everything is reported present and correct with both ATItool and RivaTuner so i'd chalk this one down to net rumours and Mr average PC guy not reading things right. A sample of games im currently playing without issue include Prey, NWN2, Dark Messiah, Doom3, UT2004, HL2, Civ4, FSX, Medieval Totalwar2.

As for your oblivion problem all I can suggest is running Drivercleaner then reinstalling all essential drivers i.e chipset, graphics card etc. What sort of 3dmark scores are you getting? That should help determine if it's a game issue or hardware.
