Cannot uninstall drivers

I have been lazy and not updated my drivers for a long while, infact I have never updated them since I built this rig. I have been noticing some problems involving a bsod mentioning the display driver dll file so I decided to install the latest drivers at four in the morning. Well as you can guess things did not go well as I ended up uninstalling ALL my nvidia drivers for my mobo. I rectified this by utilizing system restore. I got my computer backto proper order minus a few programs and files but no biggy but when I got to uninstall only the display driver the "NVIDIA drivers" slot simply disappears in Add/Remove when I click it and no box asking which drivers i would lke gone pops up. I exit the add/remove window and renter to find no "NVIDIA drivers" slot and still no window. I have looked quickly to find a manual way of removing the drivers but have come up empty. I know for a fact that the drivers are still there but I cannot access any of the uninstall options in add\remove and have looked for them in various menus. I do not want to go destroying .dll's hoping I am doing the right thing so, unless that's what I should be doing (and modifying the reg to reconize thier removal), so how should go about uninstalling the driver?

Well, if it's just your graphics drivers you are looking to remove, just go into the Device Manager, find your display card, and right click on that and click uninstall.
This will uninstall the drivers, though not permanently.
Immediately after doing the uninstall this way, restart your computer into safe mode, and use DriverCleaner Pro to clean out any nVidia display drivers. Just FYI, it won't delete your nVidia chipset stuff unless you specifiy the filter to do that (e.g. - the "nVidia" filter only deletes graphics-related stuff).
Then, reboot into normal mode and install your new drivers.

When I try this it tells that uninstallation has failed and that this driver may be required in order to boot my computer. I tried disabling it then rebooting and then trying to unistall it but it just tells me the same thing.

In that case, just try booting into safe mode and using DriverCleaner Pro.
Then, install your new drivers in normal mode. This should work fine.
