NGO NVIDIA Optimized Driver v2.9792

The NGO NVIDIA Optimized Driver is a modified version of the NVIDIA ForceWare driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with better performance, image quality and compatibility. The NGO NVIDIA Optimized Driver can enhance your experience in games, multimedia and general usage. This project is especially suited for enthusiasts and gamers that want to have the best gaming experience.

This driver includes NVIDIA's old Control Panel. We’ve preferred to include the old Control Panel over the new one due to flexibility and performance reasons. The Driver has support for all GeForce/Quadro cards – including mobile series (Go) as well. This driver has a special compatibility mode option that provides better stability, and workaround for some known bugs.

If you already installed v1.9792, we’re highly recommending updating it with this version instead. The second version (this one) includes fix for several games, refresh rate, GPU detection and some other minor issues.

why don't yall just enable both control panels at once so the user can pick? The nVidia CPanel doesn't run large memory eating programs liek the ATi one, so there's really no downside to enabling both...

At this stage we just prefered to use the old cp and since we had no requests for the new one we will just leave it this way. Also some of the optimisations made are easier to incorporate with the old cp but that doesn't mean that in future releases we won't have the option for the new one. It's really just a matter of demand, if people request it, we will try our best to deliver.

OK, here's one of the 1st requests.

Please, can you start including the new CP?

Since , I got this new PC (about a week ago) with a NX7300LE, the only driver I found beside the driver on the MSI CD, was the ForceWare Release 90 Version: 93.71.

I guess the new CP is included with drivers for graphic cards with higher model numbers. It would be interesting to see what the new CP looks like, and what the features are.

Nevertheless, I prefer enhanced quality and performance, to a pretty looking CP. I thank those responsible for this optimized driver release. These drivers make my hardware perform notably better than the official driver from nVidia I mentioned above.

The graphics are Outstanding! and the performance great!

Keep up the good work!

This driver is great! Thanks for your work and sharing it.

mainman, there's a reg key to enable both CP's at once...so that in both the system tray menu, and the desktop right click menu, you get options to open both panels [it has 2 buttons, isntead of oen for either/or]

That's all I was getting at...and all the tweaks should work with the new CP now, from overclocking, to custom LOD bias settings...what settings are you finding don't work with it? If anything, some fo the newer stuff doesn't work well in the old CP, like the new antialiasing modes, and if I recall, some fo the fancier SLi settings

It's not that it's hard to include or add, it's really just a matter of proper support and motivation. To be honest here it has become harder and harder to support these drivers. We are sick of Nvidia trying to bully us around, first with legal threats and now blocking our acess to hardware and information. It's a long story, sorry about the rant, not the time and place, and thank you for your interest man, really appreciate it.

I will be fully honest with you on this one. We had some conflicts with Nvidia in the past, and we’re still upset with some of their actions (I will not specify more details to reserve their privacy). We’re still feeling that some of these actions are unacceptable and as response, we’ve decided to spend most of our energies on ATI related projects rather then Nvidia’s. So basically, we’re allocating more resources and time on other projects, so its causing some "amount of delay" (And motivation issues) with our Nvidia’s based projects (like these drivers for example).

That's a bummer... The nVidia guys need someone to look to since DHzp was discontinued... Why not be those guys?

I agree. Today ATI have better drivers. Without the modder comunity, nVidia should be even worse.
This drivers make an huge diference both in quality and performance.

Since are people asking for the new CP or both, let me put my word against it. The new CP are cumbersome, confusing and, and Vista Like!
Please don´t even bother with CP´s, just keep doing this fine work for the poor Geforce users like me.

For some reason with any NGO release my 7950gx2 doesnt pick up that its SLi. i try nvtray and it says sli disabled even though its enabled in the classic CP. I can't make any nHancer SLi profiles either.

As if you dont know already but these drivers are the best set so far for XP and these are REV 2 of that set so even if nvidia sucks it has these guys cleaning after their mess...

NGO drivers are a must try at least .... my 2 cent.

p.s funny enough i am still considered a newbie considering i joined late 2002 but kept my silence maybe its time for a new category (old school but mute)?

I believe this was the set that had problems on certain cards. Not NGO but this original set all together.

If this is the same set I think it is my card's mem ended up registering at 2.6 ghz instead of 1.3 and I suffered severe artifacting in quite a few of my games. That was only on this card and I'm pretty it was kinda hit and miss (mostly miss) with other cards.

actually most clock speed bug's ive seen were on 6 series card owners but since this driver is made for g80 and since it has 3 clock generators in its code path even if nvidia claims that 2 of them arent used any more but i dont know enough to claim anything else other then that i didnt have any clock speeds hickups when using that driver...

actually,.. it effects many cards from the 5xxx to the 7800's

nvidia used some new clock thingy on the 7900's 7600's etc.. so thats why the issue occurs.... i can't even use anything higher then 92.91 else my system gets mini freezes... people with 6 and 7 series cards experience it too

Thumbs Down!

well imo these drivers sx, at least for me. starting with the installation. took several times(with various problems & 2nd download) until i figured out you had to install the driver twice(7950gx2) wich is pretty lame imo.
so finally got them installed did my standard config in cp rebooted & loaded up gw & started walking & scanning around to chk iq. noticed some artifacts - slight wavy banding & some jaggies- so left game & went to do some tweaking in cp, only cp was gone - couldnt access it.
so it is back to nv9291 for me.
