Xp Drivers?

Since I have windows XP and don't care very much to buy Vista right now I'm gettin a little pissed with lack of XP drivers.

I have to use the 92.91 because anything later overclock the mem on my card and causes game to artifact severely. I wonder if there is any chance Nvidia will make drives that will work for my card on XP.

One can only hope : (.

Meh, I doubt it. nVidia has been doing a good job of screwing a lot of people after the release of Vista.

Yeah it's pretty F'd up... abandoning XP users is pretty stupid on NV's part.

I'm pretty sure nVidia will be forced to pull their act together pretty soon.

you all realise that nvidia doesn't owe you anything right?

they could stop support for Windows all together and you couldn't do jack all about it.

yeah ya right there but then again what happened if we all bought ATI only hmmm no customers no sold cards

nah they canīt just ignore us if they do more and more will go to ATI now that i canīt belive Nvidia wants right?

so sure they donīt owe us a darn thing but then again they could loose millions of customers and loose even more $ so they are in a tight spot as it is and stop supporting Xp users

they canīt take that risk if so iīll sell my GF8800GTS and buy a R600

itīs as simple as that

It doesn't matter what they technically can and can't do "by law" or by any other measure.

The point is that they will piss a lot of people off and lose a lot of customers by abandoning XP driver support- Hell I just bought a 500 dollar video card that said WINDOWS XP on the box not too long ago.. I'd rather buy the next ATI card and deal with the CCC for Win XP drivers than buy the 8800GTX and settle for crappy, slow-to-be-released, or completely absent NV drivers for XP.

If actually Vista drivers work well, that would be not that problem to have a slowdown with XP drivers, but with that crap POS Vista drivers and no XP drivers? It's not even funny. At least the latest XP drivers are working good for me.

And boy, having nvidia or ati fanboys bragging it's fine, but Vista fanboys?
I think the end of the world is near...

amen to that. My lovely OS X 10.4.8 is rock solid. Sure, I may not be able to play all the nice games that I'd maybe like to on a Windows system, but in return I am able to compute with confidence and without fear of a blue screen.
But, OS X is not without fault... there is the dreaded pinwheel of death to beware...

oh, i can crash OS X. just install Apple's 802.11n enabler for C2D macs.... that'll crash it.
i did say OS X was not without fault... although it is still far more stable than windows.

TweaksRUs has posted 2 sets of nVidia Forceware XP drivers newer than the NGO Optimised set based on the 97.92.

See here: http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?o...man&Itemid=41/

They provide a download for Forceware 101.02, and they have an Extreme-G optimized set of drivers based on the Forceware 100.95 set.

These two driver sets can be found under the Nividia Forceware Driver section and the Extreme-G Forceware Driver section.

You might have to register with the forum to download. I'm not certain.

I'm using the Xtreme-G optimized driver based on the 100.95 set. So far, so good.
