How do I get 1440x900 at 60Hz, not 140Hz or 150Hz for FX Go5200 with BenQFP92W

I installed OmegaDriver 1.6693 in order to get 1440x900, the native resolution of my BenQ FP92W. But the only screen refresh rates offered are 140 or 150 Hz, while I need 60Hz. I can get 1360x768 at 60Hz for this monitor, but that is not the native resolution so does not look as good or show as many pixels as I hoped to see!

The monitor is used as an external monitor for a Dell Latitude D800 laptop with a GeForce FX Go5200 adapter. The laptop screen runs 1680x1050, and works perfectly well with the OmegaDriver.

Is there some way of driving the FP92W as an external monitor at 1440x900 60Hz with this adapter?

Thanks
Phil

If you mean using the NVidia control panel, then no - I can not select 1440 x 900 at 60Hz. I get a 'not available' message.
If you mean some way of modifying the inf file or less obvious method, can you give me a pointer to a guide to doing this please?

If your monitor supports 60, then why don't you click on the icon Nvidia Settings by the clock, then after you choose resolution, choose refresh rate?

Because that list of resolutions tops out at 1360x768. The resolution 1440x900 does not get a mention - see below.

Using the MultiRes utility that comes with the OmegaDrivers, the 1440x900 resolution is listed as an option, but if you select it then you get a message "Sorry, these display settings can not be supported".

If I use the windows Display Properties dialog, and go to the Settings tab and click on the second monitor (my 1440x900 BenQ) and then click the Advanced button and go to the Monitor tab and untick the "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" box, and then go the Adapter tab and click "List All Modes" then I see the 1440x900 resolution is listed there BUT with two refresh rates mentioned - one of 140Hz and one of 150Hz. There is no 60Hz option like there is with 1366x768.

What I do not understand is that if I do that all over again, but after selecting the laptop display in the Display Properties...Settings tab, then the "List All Modes" box DOES contain a 1440x900 60Hz resolution option.

Why is the list of "All Modes" for the adapter different depending on which monitor is selected (I thought they would be the same if "Hide Modes ..." was unselected)?

And how can I get the 1440x900 60Hz option to come up with the No 2 monitor (my 1440x900 BenQ LCD) selected?

Thanks
Phil

You don't have this one? (btw my monitor only supports those two that's why only 2 options)

Wait a minute, your monitor supports higher resolutions that do not show as options?

My monitor supports only up to it's native 1280x1024 (19") but I still get options for higher resolutions. (no, I haven't tried them) As you can see here:

Go there (next pic) and make sure the box is unchecked:

If this doesn't work, perhaps it is a limitation with the Omega drivers? Try complete unistall and install of the official Nvidia drivers with the control panel.

Also, just in case, make sure you do not have another graphics/driver related program installed that has an option somewhere that either doesn't allow you to change to as high as you want or that it conflicts in some way.
