Start a Game and the montor gets off

Hi Guys and Girls!

When i start one strategy game its called HardTruck Tycoon the graphic gets away and the monitor switched in standby.

But it happens just with this game! The drivers, what are on the game disk, are 81.98!

CPU: Athlon XP 3200+
RAM: 1024 MB
GPU: XFX 7600GS, AGP, 512MB
Driver: 93.71 nvidia

I cant install so old drivers, because my GRACA is no available!
I'm only able to install the 93.71 or the newest one.

I also play BF2 and this games are working fine!

But what is the problem? Does some old drivers for my graphic card exist??

THX Greetz from Austria

System Specs

Weclome to DriverHeaven!

Sounds like a resolution that is too high was set in the game's video options, That is, a resolution has been set that isn't compatible with your monitor. In other words, the resolution is set too high. Did you change the video options resolution setting in the game, and that's when the problem started?

You have to change the resolution in the game video options section to one that your monitor can handle. If you have a TV out for your graphic card, one way to do this is to connect the TV out to a TV and then change the resolution while using the TV as your monitor.

Another way is to find the config file in the game's installation directory and delete it. Then, you can start the game and set a resolution your monitor can handle. Many games have an auto dectect feature option that sets the game options at safe settings. To be safe, so this problem doesn't occur again, you might want to use that feature, if the game has it.

Also, some games install a game options shortccut on the start menu/All Programs, but I don't know if the game you're having a problem with does that. But if it does, use that out of game way, to change your video options.

Hope this helps.
