New nVidia Forceware 94.24 2k/XP WHQL
nVidia released a new WHQL driver today dated May 18 2007. Why they only released a version 94.24 when there's a 160.03 beta leak, I don't know.
For 7 Series and lower. Here's the link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24.html |

The actual driver date is 4/19/2007, though the release date is 5/18/07. It probably took a month for Microsoft to accept it as WHQL certified.
I installed it, but I have to test it with some games. One thing I know I don't like is the Control Panel. Although it's the New CP, it's the older version of the new CP. As far as I can tell, it doesnt have the feature for adjusting the screen size with the left, right, up, and down arrows. I hope they plan on releasing a driver with the newer new CP. EDIT: Wait a minute! The driver download page says the new CP is included, but all I see is the Classic CP. I'm new to nVidia cards, so maybe I'm missing something.

My guess is the 160.03 series leak is related to the 160.02 that was released the other day for Quadro cards. Don't know for sure, but it does seem suspect. Bad new though, for todays release, there is not x64 support.

I hear you Vikingod.
Update: It appears that nVidia pulled that 94.24 release from the official download site. LOL Maybe it was something to me seeing only the Classic CP, afterall.

That's interesting. The link I use is here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
There is a bit of discussion about this driver not having the New CP on the Xtreme-G forums. So it is likely nVidia may have pulled the driver, and maybe that Live link from Vikingod's post is newly updated or slow to be refreshed with the pulled driver result. Thanks for the info man. BTW, I miss your old Johnny Bravo avatar. hehe Cya all around.

I really wish more people posted in the Nvidia driver section on DH so we could get more feedback. That's something I miss from being an ATI user there'd be pages of comments every Omegadriver release or when a new Cat came out

I went back to the 160.03. It seems to work beter on my system than the 94.24. The 94.24 appears to be not as fast as the 160.03, and the 94.24 is missing the New CP which I like.
I know it's not much info, but it's all I have to offer, sorry. OK JohNy with the single N. ![]() And OmegaRED ur right, there was a whole lot more feedback for the ATI drivers at each release. |

These have been removed from the Nvidia iste, presumably due to the lack of the CP.

yes. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24_2.html
I've not tested them yet though, it'd be nice to find out what improvements there potentially are for 7 series owners over the hacked versions of the newer 8 series drivers, if any Last edited by piroroadkill; May 19, 2007 at 07:38 PM. |

Odd, if you go to the drivers from the front page, you get the Nov 06 drivers.

Yeah, same, but the trick is to click their "beta" driver choosing tool, and go through it that way..
It might have been left up in there by accident, don't know |
