GF 7900 Driver Issues

I have been running into issues with my nvidia driver recently so i had read in a forum the best way to remove that issue was to uninstall the driver and reinstall. I have uninstalled my Nvidia drivers but now when i reinstall I run into issues. I am using the Nvidia Omega driver pack and when I install all goes well on the install and it says sucessful. It asks me to restart and I do so and when I go to my device manager, nothing shows up under Display Adapters except "Video Controller (VGA Compatible) with a large yellow caution circle complaining of "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)" I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times and even used just Nvidia's driver recommended. No matter what i either have the option of "video controller" or the Display adapter section doesnt even show up. My Display properties settings say "display: (default monitor)" this used to say my graphic card. also under advanced in display properties it does not show an adapter type either. Please help. I have a geforce 7900
