Anyone playing older Direct3D games on newer cards?

I have very strange problems when playing Darkstone on 7600GS. After about half a hour of playing, display corruption appears in the top of the screen like a horizontal disorted 1 inch line line.

I understand that NVIDIA works on supporting newer games, and not knowingly breaks older ones.

Is anyone else playing older games and experiencing such issues?

Is there anything I can do? Use older drivers, perhaps (but consider this is DX6 or DX7 game), would it change anything?
