Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200

You might have solved this already, but a few questions in case you didn't:

Have you tried cleaning your old drivers before installing the new ones?

Are you getting any error messages?

Checked your PSU and temperatures?

Would also like to know if you know of anything that was changed before things stopped working.

Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200

Looks like a driver issue still. An old driver installation might be conflicting, or rather new drivers didn't install properly.

-Backup registry or create a restoration point

-Delete nvidia driver files installed

-Delete all nvidia related entries/references in the registry

-Restart and install drivers

Please link the drivers you are trying to install.

Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200

Oh, I didn't miss that part. I was trying to verify something with that.

By the way, did you try manually removing all traces of the old drivers yet?

Just trying to help It's really hard to assess the situation without physical access already, that's why the more info the better.

Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200

Could be a PSU issue. Years ago, my gfx card would be fine for 2D, but as soon as I used it for anything intensive like gaming, then my PC would either freeze or restart the PC. Replaced the PSU, and all was fine after.

Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200

i tried out those drivers { forceware 182.50 whql}, same result.

ok about this :

1.
it works completely fine on 640x480 8bit color
2.
if even change resolution or to 16,32 bit color it hangs
3.
most importantly it shows a pci bus when i installed the drivers it
showed they working fine n instead of an agp bus it showed a pci bus

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i forgot the to mention all video/browsing/mp3 is workin just fine.
thank you for both of your views but problems are still not gone
Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200
Have you tried installing the latest motherboard drivers? These typically had an AGP component.
Also, you haven't said if the card worked in the past. If the card worked and at one point it stopped working without you doing anything (like OS reinstall, driver change, etc.), there's more of a chance that there's a hardware problem. If it worked and stopped working after you did something, it's likely related to that.
Re: DRIVERS for XFX GF 6200
^That I wanted to know. It would help to know how it came to this.
I considered the PSU and temps, but he said everything was fine with them. There's too many details that could of been omitted to know for certain though.
