System Specs

The memory issue is that VCACHE (system.ini) plus AGP APERTURE (BIOS) must not exceed 512Mb - or a condition which breaks Windows memory management may occur.

If there is a PCI card in the slot adjacent to the AGP, move it - that slot usually shares resources with the AGP.

If you have a choice of PIC or APIC mode in BIOS (and it's on APIC), try PIC - I'm pretty sure that APIC (wit IRQ's greater than 15) is not supported in Win9x.

Install a chipset / AGP driver if available - or update to latest - for Intel chipsets, this is the Intel INF Installer.

First off, Windows 98 usually crashes constantly on a cpu faster than 2.1ghz, see

http://support.microsoft.com/default...08&Product=w98

If you need the patch for large amounts of ram it can be had here,

http://support.microsoft.com/default...12&Product=w98
