Gef4/XP/No AGP Texture Accel.....GRR!!!

Hi all,

I've come seeking answers.....I've seen this problem posted in a million different sites, but no one has a rational or definitive explanation. Here goes:

P4 3.06 ghz
Asus P4g8X Deluxe
XP Pro/SP1
GeForce4 Ti4600
DX9.0b

Problem is this: Running DXDIAG shows no agp texture acceleration, which is confirmed by low 3dMark scores. This vid card is scoring like 8100 (3DMark'01 SE), and should be closer to 14,000. Anywho, I've tried all types of gyrations to turn on the AGP Texture Accel, with no luck.

I've used a huge variety of drivers (right now, love those omega 1.4523 for DesertCombat), reinstalled DX, stripped all drivers, flashed the mobo, etc. I feel like I'm chasing my tail, and that this problem will NOT leave me.

In 'AGP Settings', the AGP is showing as 'disabled', and depth of request que is set to 1. Neither can be changed.

Bios is set to 4X AGP, with a 64 mb graphics aperature.

Any thoughts, anyone? I'm dying over here!

Thanks a bunch.

Hey UZ7,

Thanks for the advice, but I've ACTUALLY found the 'root cause'. I've tried like 13,540 different suggestions, but 1 has fixed it totally. Given the number of people with this problem, I hope my posting helps someone!

Simple - get the Intel Chipset Utility, and install it. That's it. I'm now scoring over 13,000 on 3DMark'01! YAY!

Amazing that I looked at so many posts, and only 1 said to try this.

Good luck,
C
