hi, I'm new here and desperate for any help with my situation...
![]() Ok here's the problem: I can't get the video input part of my Ti 4600 card to be recognized by video capturing/ viewing programs, such as XP's Movie Maker and Virtual Dub. Plus, I can't find any video capturing/ viewing software belonging to the actual NVidia card at all on my computer. The only Nvidia 'branded' stuff I have found is embedded within my display properties and the device manager, and nowhere within those configurations can I find anything to do with the video input. (The video output and my video games so far work perfectly.) It's a brand new computer that already came with the card installed and it didn't come with any manuals or install cds for it. I've searched the web and found the Denonator drivers available at NVidia's site but the rest of their site isn't helpful at all. I did find and download a manual on MSI's site and it mentioned capture drivers that came on MSI's install CDs... So guessing that might be the problem, I searched the net and found 2 different capture drivers at MSI's & VisionTek's sites so far... I haven't installed any of the above yet because I wanted to check here first before I screw up anything that _is_ working at the moment Am I missing certain drivers or software that should've been installed and if so, what kind of drivers, software, capture drivers do I need to have to make my GeForce Ti 4600 video input work and where do I find them? Also, I've noticed lots of different companies that manufacturer the cards for NVidia... does it matter which one the drivers/ software come from? Thanks! (...sorry for such a long post...) Linai ...my computer specs: http://powerspec.com/systems/system_...selection=9140 (GeForce specs are under the link 'video'...) |

Ok, first make sure you uninstall your current drivers by following this guide:
From add/remove control panel - remove nvidia drivers but don't re-start yet! Before u restart, go to registry and scroll down to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Video] - remove all keys underneath. You might have 1,2,3,4,5, etc keys - all should be removed. Now u can restart! When u boot back to windows, the system will display message(s) saying the display adaptor isn't configured, something is not set to maximum...etc...ignore it for now. Next install the new drivers, either manually by going to device manager and upgrading the current winxp default driver (12.40 or 29.42 if you have sp1 installed) or you can use nvidia automatic install program. Both should work. *Now these new drivers that you will install - grab them from nvidia page - its the 29.42 whql drivers there that you want - they already have the capture drivers in them...so after you install these like I specified above, you should get the capture drivers finally...if not, let us know and we'll think of something else...
