I install the drivers and reboot and soon as windows should start I get the blue screen saying something like- windows as stop before damage accurse and it tells me to uninstall any newly installed programs or hardware - something like that.. it's driving me crazy I can't update my drivers anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what to do.. I even did a clean install but no luck please help. thanks

try starting your computer in Safe mode (press the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is restarting) before you install the drivers.

The problem is when I install drivers later than 45 I get the blue screen of death crap and I have to like you said hit f8 to safe mode to uninstall the drivers so I can install 45 version but I want to know why I can't install drivers later than 45 when it's suppose to support my card..

yeah I tried that but no luck. I did a search on the forums and found out 29.42_winxp was the fastest for my card so I'm just going to use them instead of figuring out why i can't use the latest .

okay, search your hdd for a file called "setupapi.log"
open it with notepad, and find all the lines with Nvidia and see if you can get any error info off the setupapi.log , maybe it'll tell you what's causing the installation prob.

System Specs

The problem could be because the newest drivers are optimized for dx9 and the new cards. Your card is not new and the newest drivers will not help on them. Just use the best driver and that is not the newest.
