Default Post 30.30 Driver-Overlay Controls-Brightness,Hues,etc Not Active?

Seems like my white background is dull. Thought I would raise the brightness to try to correct. When I went to NIVIDIA Controls-Overlay Controls the slide bars for brightness, hues, aren't active, they don't work. I am pretty sure it was the same in 29.42. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Generally speaking you have to have a device using the overlay for the controls to be enabled. Try firing up your DVD player/tv first, then trying to adjust the overlay while they're open.
