Default Post New Nvidia Omega Drivers 1.0.80 for 9x/ME/2k/XP

Here it is, a new release with updated features and more options.

I know there are some reviews out there that don't talk too good about the drivers, but I never forced anyone to use them, they are just an alternative set of drivers, it's your choice, so please don't flame my FREE work, I'm just trying to help people enjoy what they paid for.

Please see the "what's new" text for more info.

Get them <a target="_blank" href="http://www.omegacorner.com">here</a>, in the nvidia section.

WEBMASTERS: LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE NVIDIA SECTION FOR SOME INFO ABOUT THE MIRRORS.

Having problems getting these drivers? ---- Fast <a target="_blank" href="http://www.fileconnect.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1087">Filec onnect mirror</a>

Thanks for your support and Enjoy!

smackbadger, if you can use the standard nvidia 29.80 drivers, then my drivers support it.

Thanks Chaos, I have updated the page

Default Post Damn straight

You said it Ban-Man. I listen to all these people talk about how "..my 3D Mark was 400 points better than yours" junk, and all I have to say is "That's nice. I've got better graphics than you, and it still runs at 100FPS.. so sit on it and rotate, kiddie." You just keep pimping those drivers Omega, because you have a following of people that do appreciate your hard work.

Default Post Will it fit to: Abit Gforce 2 mx/400

I wonder if the driver will fit to Abit Gforce 2MX/400.

I have a lot of problem with this card concerning wireless tranmitting from my pc to my TV... My Monitor turns black, so I have to scream to persons in my livingroom where to navigate to start movies and stuff.... so it takes forever... and a waist of time.....

I was hoping that new drivers would make this easyer...

Default Post Sorry guys....

There was an error with the installer last night and it didn't worked correctly, I ended up with bad setup files, and those where uploaded.
I have uploaded the files AGAIN, but now they don't include a setup, you have to extract them and the files are smaller.

Sorry again for this error, and thanks for your support.

These drivers are FAR superior to the reference drivers for Image quality. RtCW, Ghost Recon and SOF II look like different games with these drivers. Keep up the good work and f*** em if they can't take a joke!

okay,

I've installed them once again under Win2k and again I end up with the same problem as before.

I can't access the display advanced settings anymore because Win2k always says it couldn't execute c:\winnt\system32\desk.cpl.

This is kinda funny because now I have to remove the files manually because the deinstallation won't work

Does anyone have a solve for this gay problem?

Thx for replying anyway.

you could always try to replace the file manually. i can't tell you what source to replace it with, though, because i'm not very experienced with win2k.

Well I ran completely out of ideas now.

The only driver that somehow works with it is 27.50

Btw it's an Abit Siluro Ti4600 ...

Doesn't matter what I do - after installing those drivers I just can't get in there anymore.

LoL...

I think I am gay but... I've done it another way - I just replaced all nvidia-files in that installer directory where I unzipped my original abit-drivers were and then let the installer install the faked 27.50's with the replaced dlls and shipping files of omega and it worked.

how gay is that??

Hi Omega. I've tried your previous drivers and found that FSAA 4Xs cannot work with your tweaked LOD bias. Is that correct? I can set it to 4Xs in my advanced properties, but I open up GF tweak utility and the change registered is actually FSAA 3x3 (LOD). And the difference in FSAA can be seen in games. Does this mean that you can't have FSAA 4Xs if you have a negative LOD?

That's not true, the LOD setting is independant from the FSAA settings, but the speed penalty will be greater if you use both at the same time (high LOD and FSAA).
BTW, use RivaTuner, is WAY better than GFT Utility and have less bugs.

I have another question.

I could install the drivers now without any problem (just don't install abit's original drivers b4 - thats the solve).

But I've encountered some other strange thing.
If I do the dxdiag-test after installing the 1080-omega-drivers - I don't see a clear box - I get a wiggling something on my screen.

I've tried to deinstall dx81 and reinstall it - but it was the same.
When I install nvidia's original 29.42 detonator driver - the box is displayed clearly.

Do you have a clue about that one maybe?

Thx in advance,

Default Post Hehe, don't worry...

It's not a bug, is just that V-Sinc is turned off by default in my drivers, and the box will be displayed, but at an insanely high speed, that's the "wiggling something" you see, just turn on V-Sinc in the nvidia panels and do the test again.

Well oki,

that's an abit-ffs-case... I can't use any other drivers with it - as it seems.

I really have performance-loss if I use e.g. nvidia's whql drivers or if I install omega-drivers. It just doesn't matter. Installing abit's original 29.42 driverset works and gives me best performance again.

I played CS e.g. with the omega's and on big maps I got dropped to 70 in some cases even less than 70fps. I didn't reckon that since now with the abit-29.42 driver - works all fine.

Btw my sysconfigs

Asus p4s533 Mainboard
2x Samsung 512MB DDR-333 CL 2.5
Abit Siluro GF4Ti4600
Intel PIV 2.0GHz@23oo
