Default Post Nvidia RAM Size error

hi

i purchased a riva tnt2 m 64 32 mb video card (driver - xp detonator 28.32)

im on windows xp professional with p3 550 & 192 mb sd ram

when i boot the BIOS shows my video memory as 32 mb
however windows xp shows only 16mb everywhere (display properties, system information etc)

is it possible that the dealer may have manuplated the bios setting by increasing the video RAM
by 50 % or windows xp displays only 1/2 the video memory size

Ok first of all dont post the same thing twice! Two have u ever O/Ced the card or flashed the bios? Three do u have two video cards installed? and also did u install XP before or after the card was installed and did u remove any old drivers from previous video cards if u just replaced or put the card in with the existing XP setup?

Did u buy the card used? I dont know if those cards are still in production so im thinkin u bought it used and the previous owner of the card prolly o/c'ed the card which messed it up. Do you have 98 or some other OS to check it on? Or another comp to try it on? Also try a game most/some of the games around have info tools or will tell u in setup or options the size of your video ram

What program shows 16mb of memory? Do other programs (3DMark2k1, games, etc) display the same thing?

i have a gf3 64mb, and every windows app tells me i have 24mb video ram. i'm running win98se.

never had a problem with it, though.

as far as tnt2m64s are concerned, they don't have the gpu power to effectively use 32mb vram anyway.
