Default Post Gainwards EXPERTTOOL (BIG PROBLEM)

has anyone else had any problems running this utility , as now i have tried it one 3 seperate systems and all have the same problem , once installed i no longer seem to have 3d support

from DXDIAG

i run the test direct3d and the dx7 test runs ok but when the dx8 one runs i get the following error

Direct3D test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)

also 3dmark wont run gives out errors wont even load

i remove the utility and still nothing works , so far only a restore works(tried reinstalling directx , drivers etc , even service pack)

all the systems are running winxp

tw0 with default directx
one with service pack 1086
the graphics cards are gf4 4200 , and gf3 (same errors)
tried varying drivers no difference

all have different motherboards , two via one sis
all running amd chips though , duron 1000 , xp1800+ , xp2000+

have tried the updated version 3 of the tool , same outcome

can anyone shed some light on this as im baffled , and can find no other references to this on the net

Have you checked gainwards support? (if you bought the card from them then you are entitled to smack their tech-support around )

Oh and my reccommendation is that you try using a good third-party tweaker... like RivaTuner.
